YAHRZEIT REMEMBRANCES...
In Judaism it is traditional to say the Kaddish prayer
at Shabbat services, to light a memorial candle at home,
and to donate to tzedakah (justice) or charity to honor
the memory of our loved ones who are no longer here in
body but whose spirit, teachings, and love stay with us.
"Reflections on Life"
By Albert Einstein
Found in the Ahavat Torah “Prayers of the Heart” Shabbat
Morning Prayerbook, PAGE 78
"Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us
comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes
seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of
daily life, however, there is one thing we do know, That
people are here for the sake of other people for the
countless souls with whose fate we are connected by a
bond of sympathy. Many times a day I realize how my own
outer and inner life is built upon the labors of others,
both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert
myself in order to give in return, as much as I have
received, and am still receiving."
If you would like to make a donation in memory of a
loved one (that will be used for our Social Action/Tikkun
Olam (Repairing the World) projects or for the Rabbi’s
Discretionary Fund to anonymously help those in need),
please send a check to:
