SOCIAL ACTION ACTIVITIES

The goal of our Social Action committee is planning activities for our membership that promote Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, through actions which benefit our local community, Israel and the world.

Contributions to SOVA, a local, Jewish-sponsored food bank.

Support for Jewish World Watch, seeking to prevent genocide in Darfur, Sudan, and worldwide.

Tutoring services through KOREH LA, a volunteer program benefiting students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).

Volunteer service at the Very Special Arts Festival, a festival of the performing and visual arts for students with disabilities from LAUSD and LA County schools.

Contributions to Pardes Hana, a residential school for abandoned and neglected youth in Israel.

Participation in interfaith celebrations for Sukkot and Passover.

Events with residents of Gramercy Place, a temporary residence for abused women and their families.
