AHAVAT TORAH CONGREGATION

Whether you are a deep believer who attends services often, a skeptic or someone with occasional doubts, Ahavat Torah – for the love of Torah – will enrich your Judaism with weekly Shabbat services, joyous life cycle celebrations, and holiday services. Strong on kavanah (intention), with the desire to learn from many teachers, our congregation is a place where men and women have an equal opportunity to put their spiritual intentions into action. Our motto, “One Torah, Many Teachers, and One Community” reflects the ancient directive ‘to be a light unto the nations.’

Starting as a small group in 2002, Ahavat Torah evolved into its present form, a congregation where a majority of its members attend Shabbat services on a regular basis. All services are conducted in Hebrew and English, with Hebrew transliterations.

Rabbi Miriam Hamrell, our spiritual leader, is a graduate of the Academy of Jewish Religion. In addition to her Jewish scholarship and practice, she enhances our community by her dedication and commitment to each member. Gary Levine, our Cantorial soloist, with many years of experience, brings his passion and soulful davening to all our services.
